THE IDEA BEHIND ARTHURFEST
The inaugural ArthurFest takes place Labor Day weekend, September 4-5, 2005 at the Barnsdall Art Park — home of the historic Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Hollyhock House.
The idea behind the festival is simple. In a live performance context, it's a representation of the stellar, trans-generational, trans-continental underground music that Arthur Magazine celebrates in its pages every issue. The aim of this gathering is to celebrate, as well as to further solidify, the Arthur community of friends.
In addition to live music, the festival will feature rarely screened avant garde films, food stands from neighborhood eateries, and a booth featuring 80-year old bluesman T-Model Ford who will dispense wisdom & possibly kisses for a small price.
